Channel 4’s The Dog House returns for a Christmas special with Wood Green Pets Charity tonight - Cambridgeshire Live

The BAFTA-nominated Channel 4 show The Dog House have a Christmas episode out at 8pm tonight. Channel 4’s The Dog House, will be working with Wood Green Pets Charity and want to highlight just what a rescue dog can bring to someone's life.

All Wood Green’s dogs arrive because someone could no longer look after them, or because they were found abandoned or stray. Due to the difficult start to life, many of these dogs have, the staff work hard to find the right homes based on each dog’s individual needs.

Set in 52 acres of beautiful countryside, the Charity headquarters in Cambridgeshire mark one of the largest rehoming centres in Europe and rehomes dogs, cats, small pets and fowl. Channel 4 have filmed the Dog House at Wood Green in the past and will be back for a new series in 2023.

The series will follow the 60 strong team who work to counter the worst of our throw-away society, and bear witness to stories of canine rescue. Their ultimate goal is to find each dog a forever home and a new human to love - but finding the right person for each dog takes experience, insight into human behaviour and a bit of luck.

The Dog House at Christmas airs on Channel 4 at 8pm on Wednesday December 21.
